Jinx – Character Design Project
This project was one of my first character design projects and I had a lot of fun coming up with a storyline as well as characters to follow. For the project, we had to create two characters from a story we had made up and create character turnarounds as well as a short comic that shows the characters in the story setting. We also had to create a quick cover for the story which i had a lot of fun designing! We also were introduced to the platform Blender in which I had to create a 3D version of one of the characters. Since it was my first time creating something in 3D, I struggled a bit with creating the smaller details but in the end was proud of what I had accomplished.
My story follows the characters Queen Seraphina and Lady Agnes. Lady Agnes is Queen Seraphina’s Lady in waiting where they have developed a friendship that soon is torn when Agnes discovers the magic that Seraphina has been practicing. The Queen is secretly a witch, something that she could be executed for and intends on ending her evil husband’s reign in order for witches to gain true power and acceptance in the kingdom. Without knowing the full story, Agnes only sees the evil side and is then trapped by the Queen to ensure that Seraphina’s secret remains a secret.
